The romantic periods connection to modern popculture

I have a mini-essay on thursday which I am supposed to write about how modern pop-culture is connected to literary history. We have watched the movie "Hellboy 2" and we took notes during the movie. I don't know how to find the information to fill a text. Can somebody give some examples on the connections between literary history and modern pop-culture? It doesn't have to be the romantic period but I think that is the biggest connection.
