-Junior compares Penelope’s situation with his father’s situation. How are they similar? Do you agree with his comparison?

“What’s the difference between bulimics and anorexics?” I ask.
“Anorexics are anorexics all the time,” she says. “I’m only bulimic when I’m throwing up.”
Wow.
SHE SOUNDS JUST LIKE MY DAD!
He always sais " Im only alcoholic when i get drunk"
There are all kinds of addicts, I guess. We all have pain. And we all look for ways to make the pain go away.
Penelope gorges on her pain and then throws it up and flushes it away. My dad drinks his pain away.
So I say to Penelope what I always say to Dad when he’s drunk and depressed and ready to give up on the world.

Arnold Spirit Sr/Juniors father and Penelope are in some ways two of a kind because Penelope said that “I'm only bulimic when I'm throwing up” which almost sounds exactly like Juniors father's statement but just with different words when he says“I'm only alcoholic when i get drunk”. If you ask me I would say that Junior has the right comparisons and I agree with him snice Juniors father and Penelope are both living an unhealthy life and they both are addicted to dangerous skills to control their unsatisfactory, painful and hardship life and not give up.
