Översätta engelsk texten till svenska

Hej!

Jag behöver översättning till den texten till svenska men  översätt inte från google översättning.

The pyramids and other tombs were built on the west bank of the Nile River. The Egyptians chose the west bank as the “land of the dead” because that was where the dying sun disappeared each evening.

The building of the pyramids was generally started during the dry season of May and June. That was when the Nile River was at its lowest level. The crops of the year before had been harvested. The ground was now dry and cracked under a baking sun. The farmers had no work to do in the fields.

The farmers became pyramid builders. They were paid for their labor in food and clothing. The workers were provided with tools. There were no coins or other types of money used in Egypt at that time. Many of the farmers probably worked on the pyramids of their own free will rather than as forced labor. The work was a means to adding to their livelihood.

Once the Nile flood began, barges were able to bring stones down the river from the distant quarries. The stones could be unloaded close to the building sites at the desert’s edge. But most of the stone used in the pyramids came from the surrounding desert itself. On land, the stones were transported on sleds with wide wooden runners. Wheels would probably have been useless. They would have sunk at once into the sand.

Every step of the work was accomplished with human labor. The huge blocks of stone were cut and shaped by hand. Tools of flint and copper were used. The Egyptians had no iron. The stones were lifted and hauled onto the sleds with the help of wooden wedges. Stout wooden bars were used as levers. The sleds themselves were not pulled by animals but by teams of men. The oxen and donkeys that the Egyptians used for fieldwork could not have been fed and watered in the harsh desert.

As the pyramid grew taller, the blocks of stone were pulled uphill on ramps made of rocks, sand, and mud. Logs, laid crosswise on the ramps, were embedded in the mud every few feet. They acted as stoppers to keep the heavy loads from slipping backward. Any interior rooms or passages had to be finished before the upper part of the pyramid was completed.

Altogether about eighty pyramids were built as burying places for the kings of Egypt.

Visa hur du har försökt även om det inte är rätt. Det blir enklast och mest lärorikt om du själv visar fina framsteg och sedan tar hjälp.

Lycka Till.
