In the book Looking For Alaska written by John Green is a lot of  things happen, and this essay argues with I think is the biggest ones: the factors why Alaska died and also how she died. Did she kill herself or was it an accident? And why? We can draw conclusions and try to see it from the psychological perspectives so we can make a statement. So let us start with this analysis!

The entire novel is set around the death of Alaska, and the book is divided into two parts. Part one is called “before” and part two is called “after”. It will symbolize the time before Alaska died and after she died. Even if you could not know that Alaska was going to die, could you guess it. Cause there were several accounts of foreshadowing her death, most of them was being remarked by Alaska herself. For example: “I may die young, but at least I'll die smart.” as stands on page 44, and why I believe that her death could be a suicide is because it feels like she is not so happy and she also said that “What you must understand about me is that I’m a deeply unhappy person” which makes it kind of clear that she could have been suicidal.

The book starts with Miles, who is this book's protagonist. He is lonely and did not really know how to connect to other people of his age. But everything changes when he goes to campus. There he meets the Colonel, Takumi and best of all Alaska Young, a girl that Miles finds very attractive and his world changes immediately. It is very clear that what happens is that Miles or as he also is called “ the Pudge” falls in love with Alaska. But one big problem is that she has a boyfriend, that she loves. Since Pudge is a very insecure boy is he letting the time pass and never tells Alaska that he actually likes her very much, and that he gets feelings for her. Maybe it is cause he did not want to destroy their relationship and he did not know how Alaska would react to that. As this book is written from Pudge’s perspective can we just know what he is thinking and not what the others are thinking. But we can analyse their behavior from how they act in different contexts. And when we know why they're acting like they do, we can see this story from another perspective and the reason why Alaska died.

In my opinion is Alaska a very mysterious girl. It’s very hard to understand what she is thinking about and how she is thinking. I know that the book is not written from her perspective, and the only person you can understand is Pudge and his feelings just because he tells what he feels and it is written in the book. So Alaska is kind of a flat character even if you could get a clear picture of both her personality, and her outside. She is acting like a very cool and chill girl, but I think that she is very emotional on the inside and carries a lot of thoughts. That affects her a lot, but I think that the Pudge makes her feel better for at least a while. But Alaska never got to know what the Pudge actually felt for her, and the question is if that could have stopped Alaska from die. Maybe then she should never drive away that day and probably would things end up different then. This shows how so little can change so much, and how our decisions can change the future.

To sum up this essay can we not know if Alaska died in an accident or if it was a suicide. She could have been suicidal but also had died by a mistake anyway.

In the book Looking For Alaska, written by John Green, is a lot of things happen

and this essay argues with I think is the biggest ones

Mycket informellt. Skriv något i stil med "This essay is set to analyze one of the major incidents".

kill herself

Commit suicide är mer formellt.

It will symbolize the time before Alaska died and after she died

Det blir renare att skriva "before and after Alaska's death".

Du kan även lägga till citatet "Y'all smoke to enjoy it, I smoke to die." (p. 44)

Andra kommentarer:

I think you should pay attention to the word order. In English, if it's a statement, the verb follows the subject, even if it's a clause. Also, you are repeating yourself quite often. You are just conveying the same ideas in various forms. Try avoiding this since this won't benefit either your essay and your grade.
